Adam Wieczorek

Deputy Mayor of Lodz

A graduate of many universities, including the Medical University of Lodz, where he  received a master’s degree in Public Health with a specialization in Organization and Management in Health Care. He continued his education at the Warsaw School of Economics studying a postgraduate degree in the filed of  Managing Health Care Facilities. Then, he completed postgraduate studies at the University of Warsaw in the subject of Law, Economics and Management in Business. 

While preparing himself to perform managerial functions in the public sector, a year later he completed another postgraduate course Administration and Management for Public Administration Management Staff at the University of Lodz. In 2020, he completed doctoral studies in economics at the Warsaw School of Economics. He is currently working on a dissertation in finance entitled Determinants of the financial condition of public hospitals in Poland. 

He started his professional career in 2011 in the Health Policy Department of the Marshal's Office of the Lodz Voivodeship, where he was involved in work related to the supervision of voivodeship hospitals. Then, from 2016 to 2018, he was responsible for the modernisation and equipping of these facilities as Director of the Investment Office at Inwestycje Medyczne Łódzkie Sp. z o. o. Apart from his professional activity, he held public positions as Chairman of the Social Council of the Dr Karol Jonscher Municipal Medical Centre in Lodz (2013-2018) and Chairman of the Social Council of the Municipal "Lecznicza" Clinic in Lodz (2012-2013).

Since 2010, as a councillor of the City Council of Lodz, he was involved in topics related to the reform of the city's outpatient clinics and hospitals, which he continued since 2014 as Chairman of the Health and Social Care Committee. During this time he also initiated  and co-created numerous activities for the benefit of Lodz seniors, disabled people and in the area of health prevention. They constitute the "Healthy Łódź" project and some of them are: Centres for Healthy and Active Seniors, In Vitro for Łódź, Łódź versus Liver Diseases, ToTuPoints and Elektromobilna Łódź. Since 2018 he has been the Deputy Mayor of the City of Lodz responsible for tasks related to the health protection of the inhabitants, securing the needs of seniors and disabled people, social assistance and family benefits.
