D. engineer, honorary professor at Wroclaw University of Life Sciences. Long-time research and teaching staff member at the Department of Electronics, Wroclaw University of Technology. In 1968-1989 democratic opposition activist, including 1982-1989 member of the Executive Committee of the underground organization “Solidarność Walcząca”. Lecturer at the Postgraduate School of Intelligent Power Networks. Author of dozens of scientific publications on telecommunications, industrial informatics, and political and economic issues. He has served several times as President of the Board of Directors of large commercial companies, including President of the Board of Directors of Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. in 1998. He has served as chairman or member of many supervisory boards, including Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A., Tauron PE S.A., KGHM PM S.A., PSE S.A., PTE Generali S.A., Alior Bank S.A., and scientific boards of research institutes. He has managed or participated in many major Polish and international economic programs, especially in the field of electric power. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Investment Corp. consulting company and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ekoenergetyka- Polska S.A.
