TOGETAIR2023 Climate Summit partners with the final of the 6th Stena Circular Economy Award

For the sixth time, Stena Recycling is inspiring companies and students to implement closed-loop economy solutions. This year, the TOGETAIR2023 Climate Summit has become a partner of the competition’s finale. During the first day of the Summit, on April 19, this year’s Leaders of the Closed Circuit Economy will be announced.

– “Changing the existing linear economic model to one based on circularity requires education, commitment and time. It is driven by the exchange of ideas and experiences that inspire and form the basis of many new partnerships aimed at implementing GOZ solutions. That’s why we initiated the Stena Circular Economy Award. We are happy that this year, thanks to our cooperation with the TOGETAIR2023 Climate Summit, the best GOZ practices implemented in our market will be presented at such an important event,” says Aleksandra Surdykowska PR & Marketing Manager of Stena Recycling

This year, the final of the competition will take place during the 4th edition of the TOGETAIR2023 International Climate Summit. In the library of Warsaw University, at the end of the first day of the event, the winners of this year’s Stena Circular Economy Award organized by Stena Recycling – Leaders of the Closed Circuit Economy will be announced.

The TOGETAIR initiative brings together various institutions and communities in Poland, in particular government and local administration, scientific institutions, business, the non-governmental sector and the media. The goal of the TOGETAIR project is to discuss environmental protection and support economically rational goals of Polish climate policy.

– “Innovative ideas and strategies for implementing GOZ in business are key to environmental protection. Consistently implemented, they can become an example and a real change. A change that we need socially and business-wise. Business models are evolving, just as our awareness of and responsibility to the environment is evolving. Honoring the winners of the Stena Circular Economy Award during the 4th edition of TOGETAIR 2023 is a great opportunity for cooperation, discussion and sharing best practices”- says Agata Smieja, President of the Clean Air Foundation and CEO of TOGETAIR

The sixth edition of the Stena Circular Economy Award competition is underway, rewarding companies that implement or promote circular economy solutions, as well as students who have an idea for introducing GOZ to business or society. In order to participate in the competition, a contest form must be completed by February 12. Entries can be submitted in three competition categories: businesses implementing GOZ, businesses promoting GOZ ideas, and students who have an idea for promoting or implementing GOZ. Submitted projects will be evaluated by a Jury consisting of:

About the Stena Circular Economy Award competition

The Stena Circular Economy Award competition was launched by Stena Recycling in 2017 and is the first competition in Poland to reward companies – GOZ Leaders – that implement or promote the circular economy. Both start-ups and larger companies operating in Poland can submit their practices. In previous editions, GOZ Leaders have been awarded to companies such as Kaufland, IKEA Retail, Orange, woshwosh, North.pl and Studio 102, among others.
The competition also awards students who have ideas for promoting or implementing GOZ in society or business. In this way, we create a platform for experience sharing and education. Participation in the competition will become their chance to present their project to business and to obtain funding that will allow them to implement their project.
Among other things, the Stena Circular Economy Award initiative has been awarded the Newsweek 2021 Conscious Choice Certificate in the “Changing the World for the Better” category, and recognized in the 10th edition of Polityka’s CSR Letters.
Recruitment for the 6th edition of the competition runs from 09.01 to 12.02.2023.
