ANDRZEJ MIZGAJSKI

Andrzej Mizgajski is a professor of earth sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. He is the author of more than 170 publications in environmental management, urban ecology and complex geography. He has extensive practical experience in environmental management. Among other positions, he has served as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Environment and Director of the Department of Environmental Protection at the Provincial Office in Poznań. From 2014 to 2019, he served as Chairman of the State Council for Environmental Protection. Among the honors he has received is a scholarship from the renowned Alexander Humboldt Foundation. He participates in important European research programs. He represents Poland in the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI), as a member of the environment group. At the European Research Council, he participates in the evaluation panel. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Society for Urban Ecology (SURE), within which he heads the Central Europe Branch.
